I love the opportunity to find ‘that moment’ in a portrait thats unpretentious and reveals an element or character of the sitter. In the case of the old man reading (a friend) he was blissfully unaware I was taking his photo.

I much prefer to shoot people in their own environment or in a location rather than the studio. The sitter is generally more at ease and feels less on show!
